Signalman Ajay Singh Choudhary, a 23-year-old  was a native of Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan. He joined the Indian army in the year 2000 and belonged to the Corps of Signals. Signalman Ajay Singh Choudhary was serving in 56 RR in J & K area in 2016. In June 2016 he was part of the contingent that was assigned the task of foiling an infiltration bid in Machil Sector. He engaged the infiltrators fearlessly at the cost of his life and attained martyrdom on 15 June 2016.

He was awarded Sena Medal for his bravery and selfless service to the nation. He is survived by his wife and an eight month old son.
